Jumpstart Your Career in Pediatric Feeding Therapy
A Special Offer
For Students and Recent Graduates
Hey there!
Are you completing your training in occupational therapy (OT), speech-language pathology (SLP), or as a registered dietitian (RDN)?
Are you eager to work in pediatric feeding, but unsure where to start?
This is for you.
Pediatric feeding therapy is a rewarding specialty—but it can be demanding and complex
Masters programs and board exams establish the foundation for therapists entering their fields.
But they don’t prepare us to be confident clinicians who can walk into a home kitchen and effectively engage with parents and children.
The Get Permission Institute is the most experienced learning community for professionals treating pediatric feeding disorder.
Our community was founded by Marsha Dunn Klein—whose remarkable career laid the foundations for trust-based, responsive feeding & mealtime peace approaches used by feeding therapists worldwide. (You might have read her textbook in school!)
Co-Founders Karen Dilfer & Stephanie Cohen have built on Marsha’s legacy, mentoring younger therapists and leading evidence-based innovation in the SLP and OT communities.
You can do this.
We can help.
We love what we do. And we’re committed to finding and supporting new clinicians who are curious and ready to explore feeding.
Our goal is to build your confidence, develop your clinical skills, and equip you to thrive as a knowledgeable feeding therapist.
We’ll help you focus all you’ve learned into practical treatment strategies you can use immediately in sessions—or on your resume for the future.

Questions & Answers
Current graduate students and recent graduates in occupational therapy (OT), speech-language pathology (SLP), or registered dietetics (RDN) who have graduated within the past 24 months.
Eligibility includes candidates completing required work experience hours or studying for licensure exams—for example, SLPs in their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or studying for their Praxis exam, OTs in supervised fieldwork or studying for the NBCOT exam, or RDNs working in supervised internship or studying for their CDR exam.
Undergraduate students should start their graduate program before applying for this offer.
You don't need any prior feeding therapy experience — curiosity and readiness to learn is enough.
No exam, no essay—we know you’ve seen enough of those! You'll complete a brief application to verify your eligibility—including field of study, educational institution, graduation date (actual or expected), and a short paragraph — 2 to 4 sentences — about why you're interested in pediatric feeding therapy. Using your .edu email address will speed up approval.
We believe yes! Most graduate programs offer limited clinical training in feeding. Completing a structured, evidence-based course from trusted experts in the field signals to employers that you’re willing to invest in specialized skills, while giving you professional confidence.

GPI's co-founders have continued building on this foundation with ongoing clinical and educational work in both the OT and SLP communities, blending the strengths of each professional approach.
